Startup life: Famous for five minutes
To say the startup scene is misunderstood is a bit of an understatement. Is it exciting? Yes. Is it exhausting? It can be. Is it fulfilling? That’s one question only you can answer for yourself.
Everyone’s heard the exaggerated stories of Silicon Valley (and beyond). Stories about productivity meaning waking up at 4:30 am, then meditating or doing ‘mindfulness’ yoga sessions.
Then there’s the tall tales of crazy work hours, and even crazier parties to celebrate launches or product milestones. Oh yes, and the lazing around on bean bags “brainstorming” for hours on end in creative meetings while munching on fast food. I could go on.
But is this the reality?
Well, yes and no. We do like our occasional fast food – especially souvlaki, among others – at Starttech.
But, the most important thing is to love what you do and do what you love, right? Or at least find something as close as possible to that often elusive ideal. And that’s a philosophy we try to live by.
As cliché as it sounds, it’s the people that make a business tick – and that’s even more true for startups. And for Starttech this includes both internal staff and team members of each startup in our portfolio.
People power
But don’t just take my word for it. It’s high time you met some of the fine specimens we have among our ranks. Because our collection of fathers, mothers, dreamers, coders, growth hackers, social media junkies, scribblers, hacks and everything in between each have their own story to tell.
