Nature is here to teach us. Simply by looking at the behavior of specific species we can all learn a lot. For instance, we learn how to ‘decode’ our own behavior and become better in what we do. In business, too! Entrepreneurs, we can observe nature and the animal kingdom. That is to find ways things can be done more efficiently.
Entrepreneurs can learn!
It does not matter if us humans are more advanced species than animals. Even modern and successful entrepreneurs can learn a lot by observing animals…especially the ones that live in their natural environment. Let see a few examples of what animals can teach entrepreneurs.
1. Teamwork is absolutely the most important value
Only a few animal species choose to live on their own. Most of them live in groups or just with a few partners for obvious reasons. Entrepreneurs who wish to succeed must have a solid and efficient team supporting them. It is almost impossible to make it in the “business jungle” only by themselves.
2. Everyday struggle is always the same
Animals everyday have to struggle to find food and protect themselves from enemies. They behave like there is no tomorrow for them. Entrepreneurs should be doing exactly the same thing even if they managed to make a lot of money just the day before. They should try to make every single day as successful as possible.
3. Need to stay healthy. Otherwise…
If animals are not healthy they can’t find food. Also, they are very vulnerable to enemies. Entrepreneurs need to make sure that they keep both their body and their business healthy. If their body and mind can’t support them they will lose. If their business is not healthy, it will collapse.
4. Need to have “hair and some fat”
Hair and fat help animals go through difficult times. Hair protects them from cold or extreme sun and fat allows them to live in extreme temperatures. As a metaphor, we can say that entrepreneurs should have “hair and some fat” in order to be able to go through difficult times.
5. Attack only for protection
Most animals attack people only for self protection. There is only a few very aggressive species in the planet. Entrepreneurs should be doing exactly the same i.e “attack” only those who try to hurt them, ignore others and always try to support networking opportunities even with “unknown species”.
