Winter might not be here yet (it officially starts on December 21st), but it’s dangerously close, and EBAN’s Winter University, held in Zagreb on the 28-30th of November is a great way to welcome it.
EBAN’s Winter University being, of course, one of Europe’s largest and most international business angel events, with a long and successful history of 14 past such gatherings.
Following last year’s event, which was hosted in Copenhagen, this year’s Winter University will take place in Zagreb (Croatia), and will be organized and co-hosted by the Croatian Business Angels Network in cooperation with the City of Zagreb.
The event, which aims to bring together eminent business angels, entrepreneurs and opinion makers for three days of mingling, networking and dealmaking, boasts over 1700 participants, including hundreds of business angels and early stage investors and a hundred select startups from Europe and beyond.
Among the speakers is StartTech Ventures’ own Dimitris Tsingos, which will participate in a panel discussion of “Public and private co-investment funds with angels” (30 November, 12:30).
The panel, moderated by Paulo Andrez (EBAN President Emeritus), will also feature Ivar Siimar (ESTBAN), Miklos Kovacs (iEurope), Suresh Patel (Superfounders) and Ricardo Luz (Executive Board Member of IFD – Instituição Financeira de Desenvolvimento, SA).
The discussion, which will be centered around co-investment funds, is particularly timely, as Starttech Ventures is itself preparing to put together a fund for investing in SE Europe.
Particularly interesting for European entrepreneurs will also be the Zagreb Connect startup competition, in which teams will be pitching their ideas to jury members and to all the participants of the conference, with a prize fund of €100.000 for the best startups.
